Open AX Day to share AX concerns and experiences together
In the AI era, it is more advantageous to share each person's experiences and trials and errors rather than living independently.
On July 29th, we invited AX representatives from five companies to the Corca office and held the first meeting.Open AX Dayopened. It has quickly become Corca’s representative monthly event.AX DayIt was created with the intention of opening it to the outside world. I was worried because it was my first time holding an event like this, but after seeing people with diverse experiences in various domains come together to share their AX concerns and experiences, I thought it was a good idea to hold an event like this.

In this article, I will briefly share how the first Open AX Day was conducted and what learnings were made. Below is some of the information announced to participants.
How did it go?
In fact, I first conceived of Open AX Day three months ago. This form was achieved after at least five or six changes in direction and design. Originally, we were going to recruit a lot more participating companies, but an agreement was reached that the priority would be to increase learning density rather than scale.
The motto we kept in mind this time was ‘diversity.’ From the beginning of the event, we provided this information to participants.
In the AI era, we live in an era where new trends emerge every week and we don't know what the right answer is. It is more advantageous for everyone to share their experiences and trials and errors rather than living individually. So, we have prepared a program so that we can have as many conversations with each other from as many different perspectives as possible.
Next, we reconstructed the ice-breaker answers received from the preliminary survey and showed what other people were thinking in general.

Written on an index card along with your affiliation and name.AX’s concerns these daysEach person introduced themselves while showing the . (I am‘Effectively creating and operating an effective knowledge base for the organization’I wrote this out of concern)

Oh Eun-seok, who worked in Pangyo for 20 years and has been living overseas as a full-time investor for 3 years, shared his experience using Hermes agents in his personal life and investments.

And each person analyzed their own problem using the ‘problem diagnosis skill’ that Corca uses when consulting with its client, AX. This is a skill that helps you think about where AI can fit in and where the bottleneck is by decomposing the problem workflow into several Input-Process-Output parts and diagramming them. We saved time by including the documents we each had to create to respond to the pre-survey survey.

After preparing like this, we divided into groups and went through two iterations. We designed it to spread first and then focus.
Iteration 1: All companies are mixed together to play the ‘If Me Game’.
One problem owner briefly explains the problem and context along with the visualized problem diagnosis results, and other people write suggestions for a limited time, saying, ‘If it were me, I would try this to solve this problem.’ The problem owner looks at each opinion, has a conversation, and writes a prompt to be included in the session where the ‘problem diagnosis’ was conducted. Repeat this for all problem owners. Corca also expressed opinions, but focused more on facilitation. The goal was to ensure that everyone could rack their brains in a short period of time and obtain it without evaluation or censorship.
Iteration 2: Each company gathers and works in pairs to produce small outputs.
Since you heard various ideas in Iteration 1, the intention was to create something ‘that you can take to your own organization and use right away.’ As expected, and as intended, this played out quite differently from organization to organization. There was a group that did ‘Mindset redesign strategy and action plan design for AX within the organization’ through pair prompting, and there was another group that created ‘A guidebook for creating a chatbot that finds the desired file in the team’s public folder.’

Finally, the five-hour journey ended with everyone gathering together again and reminiscing.
unexpected success
To be honest, I thought AX Day wouldn't be that difficult because we've done it 7 times within Corca's company, but the external event was a completely different level. Would you say it feels like releasing a product that has been used as dog food in-house to the outside world? So, as the day of the event approached, I felt a lot of pressure. I think we got good results because we kept pushing forward with the idea of ‘there is no right answer, so let’s listen to various voices.’
At Korca, we aim for participants’ ‘efficacy’ in most events. The three levels of efficacy measured at this event are as follows:
- AX Opportunity Spotted: I can think of specific tasks or bottlenecks in my organization that could be replaced with AI/agents.
- small run start: You can start a small experiment for AX yourself.
- Organization Applicable Terms: I understand what it will take and what might get in the way for AX to become established in our team/organization.

The distribution of efficacy among those who participated in this event changed as shown above. Since they are the people in charge of AX in the organization, their starting scores were not that low, but fortunately, the overall distribution of ending scores has shifted upward. On the other hand, there are people whose scores dropped (especially in the ‘organizational application condition’), and when they looked back, they explained that they lowered their scores by saying, ‘I realized I was too confident.’ (That's why I say it happens often,Dunning-Kruger effectmentioned)
After the event ended, we also looked back among ourselves. Because the Corca members were divided in each group, what each person saw and felt was different. Of course, there were things to improve in time distribution and program structure, but the common comment was that ‘participants were much more satisfied than expected.’ There are not many opportunities to hear what concerns other organizations are having and what trials and errors they have experienced. I think the main factor was that it was rare to have multiple experts rush to my problem and suggest solutions and ideas.

In fact, looking at the reviews sent by event participants, I was satisfied with the event itself, but I was also very proud to see that there were people who said they were making changes within the organization by immediately implementing the action items they wrote down at the end of the event.
Conclusion: Round 2 and AX Launch Talk
What I became even more convinced of through this Open AX Day is that, as mentioned at the beginning, “in the AI era, it is very advantageous to share each person’s experiences and trials and errors together rather than living alone.” I usually hear about various AX concerns through AX consulting and coffee chat, and with Open AX Day as an opportunity, I felt like I wanted to share what I felt with more people.
We also received a lot of questions here and there about the 2nd Open AX Day. Quite a few companies have already made reservations. We have not yet confirmed when, where, and in what format it will be held, but it looks like it will be held at least once more in the second half of the year. We will inform you through the Corca blog as soon as it is confirmed. We ask for your interest.
