From design to implementation, Corca Team’s UX Engineer
This is an interview conducted to inform the public about the work that the Corca Moonlight Team does.

Q. Please introduce yourself!
Hello, my name is Jang Eun-sol, and I am working as a UX Engineer at Moonlight.
Are you curious about what kind of job a UX Engineer is?
The role is to discover problems in the UX/UI process and implement solutions directly to the front end. We don't just stop at the design stage, we realize solutions to improve user experience through code and collaborate closely with developers.
Q. Please tell us about what you do at Corca!
Moonlight is an AI tool that helps you read papers faster and easier. I want people to use MoonlightImproving and developing in terms of UX/UI so that the value of the product can be better feltI'm doing it.
I understand that you previously worked as a designer. What led you to handle such a diverse range of areas?
From the beginning, rather than just designing, I had a desire to directly realize everything from planning to implementation. These days, as AI-based coding tools develop, designers can more easily implement prototypes or front-ends. Thanks to that, I naturally expanded into a role that handles both design and development.
Q. What capabilities or mindset do you think is needed to do a good job as a UX Engineer at Corca?
Setting accurate goalsandPerspective from the user's perspectiveI think it's important to have both. Of course, the goals set by the team are important, but you also need to consider whether the goals will harm the user experience (UX). So I'm always trying to balance goals and UX.
Q. When do you feel the fun and reward of work? Conversely, when is work difficult and difficult?
When is the most fun?The moment when you and your team members move together toward the same goal and rejoice together when you achieve results in the process.This is it. Conversely, difficult times are when the goal is not clear. Even if you fail, if you have a clear goal, you can still learn, but if you don't have a goal, it seems like it just ends in failure. So, I try to set weekly and monthly goals with my team members and check our direction frequently.
The number of Moonlight users has surpassed 100,000 (👏👏👏). What is your next goal?
Of course I'm glad that the number of users has increased, but what's really important isPeople who are using Moonlight wellI think so.
So rather than being satisfied with the numbers, we want to make it easier for actual users to use it.We continue to come up with ideas to improve our products.The team's common goal is not to get carried away by the number of users, but to create a better experience with a humble heart.
Q. Where did you grow the most while working at Corca?
A data-driven way of thinkingThis is it. In the past, design decisions were often made based on senses or subjective opinions, but at Corca, all team members naturally spoke based on data.
While watching the process, I also decide on the direction of the design.How to prepare and explain your rationaleI learned a lot.
Q. What topic does Korca's Moonlight team talk about most often these days?
“Users are sincere about Moonlight.”
I recently went to an AI event to promote Moonlight, and there were a lot of people who came by and eagerly left their opinions on what they liked and what areas could be improved. While watching that, I often thought, ‘I need to make something better for these people.’
Also, I posted a Moonlight story on my blog, and a friend from high school left a comment saying, “I’m writing Moonlight Friends too!” I was really proud to see that, and at the same time, I felt more responsible.
What do you particularly agree with or like about the Moonlight team's goals or way of working?
Among the books the team members read together, there is a book called “Be Wrong, It Will Be Revealed.” At first, there was a lot of pressure to do well, but after reading this book together, an atmosphere of learning from each other's mistakes was created. Thanks to this, I think a culture of expressing opinions more freely and learning together rather than criticizing mistakes has been established.
And as the team spent time reading and sharing books, I, who used to only watch YouTube, developed the habit of reading books on the subway these days. In that respect as well, I think the Moonlight team has had a lot of positive influence on me.
Q. What was the most impressive scene or episode while working at Corca?
Recently, I was impressed by what Jin-gyu (Operations Lead) said at a meal.
“Why work at a company if one person is going to take responsibility when a mistake is made?” These words really touched me.
I think the good thing about Corca is that you can share the joy of a job well done and work safely in an atmosphere where no one is pushed out even when you make a mistake.
Society is often cruel. They say, ‘If you make a mistake, it’s your fault,’ but Korka takes care of that part.friendly companySo I feel grateful.
Q. What does Eunsol imagine Corca will look like a year from now?
Without settlingA team that continues to find new thingsI hope so. The AI market is changing so quickly that we hope Corca will remain a leader in it.
Q. How do you want to grow at Corca in the future, Eunsol?
These days, I feel like the scope of what designers can do has expanded a lot. I also work in such a new way.Strengths that designers can demonstrate when engineeringI want to explore further. And I want to be someone who can share the process, someone who can show that “it can work this way.”
Q. What kind of influence do you want to have at Corca in the future?

Recently, a developer set an experiment goal and directly told me that he would like me to join him as a supporter. I was really happy to hear that. I felt that my help could have a positive impact on the team's experiments and attempts.
Q. Who do you expect to join the Corca Moonlight Team as a colleague?
The Moonlight team is a team that moves quickly, tries, and executes right away.
SoSomeone who can blend in well with the rhythmI hope so. Since the AI market is changing rapidly, I would like someone who can respond to the changes with an open mind and grow together by sharing new information with the team.
