CTO shaping the way we work with agents
This is an interview conducted to inform you about the work the Corca team does.
Sunyoung Kim (HR Manager) asked, and Gyuyoung Kang (CTO) answered.
- What is the atmosphere and development culture of the Corca team?
- What does a CTO do and what concerns do they have?
- What does the CTO dream of for Corca?
Q. Please introduce yourself!
My name is Gyuyoung Kang, and I am an engineer who will officially join Corca in February 2026.

Q. Please tell us about what you do at Corca!
Together with the AX team, we are also creating a service called ‘Kraken’ while experimenting and refining our own agent utilization strategy and improving the code quality and processes of existing products.
What kind of Kraken service are you currently developing?
A service that creates a collaboration environment optimized for the AI eraIt is. We are creating a space where multiple agents and people can work together and collaborate.
Currently, we leave conversations to Slack, knowledge management to Notion, files to Google Drive, and AI work to ChatGPT. Notion and Slack also have AI features, but it feels like they simply added AI to an existing product, so it's not a completely integrated experience.
Kraken aims to integrate these features much more tightly. Agents can collaborate with each other, request tasks from humans, or even spawn other agents.
One of the design principles is to treat agents and humans as equally as possible. For example, in an era where everyone needs their own agent, an agent may also need another agent.
The name Kraken is also unique. How did you come up with it?
Originally, ‘Kraken’ was a sea monster that started with K, but since Korka started with C, I changed the name to C. There is an image of long tentacles extending out from the deep sea and affecting many places, and the name was created to recall a service that is connected everywhere. Also, Korka and Kraken have the same consonants😀
Q. When do you feel the fun and reward of work? Conversely, when is work difficult and difficult?
I have the most fun when coding. There is a joy like solving a puzzle, especially when solving difficult problems. Also, the process of imagining what problems would be worth solving is also interesting.
I tend to find it relatively difficult to manage an organization or in situations that require a lot of social interaction between people, but now that I am in the role of CTO, I think that such aspects are also necessary. I'm not used to it yet, but I'm working hard to fulfill my role well in a way that suits me.
While watching Gyuyoung, I didn't feel like he was lacking in that aspect. On the contrary, I thought he was doing well. I especially got the impression that you were speaking out of consideration for the other person!
Q. What topic does the Corca team talk about most often these days?
I think we talk about AI the most. We've been talking a lot lately, especially about design. It is a design that includes not only visuals but also planning. They say that in the AI era, software can be created with just a few clicks. Ultimately, I think production costs are getting lower and lower.
Then, I think two things will happen. One is a phenomenon where a lot of software is being released, and the other is a phenomenon where software that is much better than existing software is emerging.
So these days, I’ve been thinking a lot about **‘What really is better software?****. For example, existing software often did not sufficiently consider diverse users, such as not supporting color blindness or being geared toward right-handed users. Because it takes a lot of time and money to support all cases, we release the product with some compromise.
But now, as development costs are lowered, we are creating an environment where software can be created faster and with higher quality. If so, I think it would be possible to create software that leaves no one behind. However, because the results produced by current AI imitate existing code, it is not able to solve these problems well on its own. I think this is one of the important challenges that must be solved in the future.
We expect that these changes will make the world a better place and create greater business value.I'm doing it.
You suggested AX Day first. How do you view this direction and atmosphere from the team as a whole so far? Do you feel like things are going well?
I've done it twice so far, and I'm quite satisfied with the enthusiasm and participation. However, there still seems to be a lack of feeling that what came out of AX Day continues in daily life and work. It seems like the trend of the atmosphere rising and then sinking again is repeated, but I think it is important to make sure that the excitement continues and can lead to actual development. I hope that this trend will continue naturally and develop in a direction that can actually produce meaningful results.
Are you curious about Corca AX Day?
Q. What was the most impressive scene or episode while working on the Corca team?
overallThe speed of the team is fastThis was impressive. I felt that it was good because once a decision was made, it was implemented quickly. Another thing that stood out was that even non-development members actively used agents like Claude code and contributed directly to the code.
I think I started wondering if there was anything I could make with Claude code after AX Day!
Q. What do you think are the strengths of the current Corca team?
Times are changing rapidly, and I feel that my team members are adapting well to these changes. I think the team's great strength is its open-minded attitude toward accepting new technologies and methods.
Q. What does Kyuyoung imagine Corca will look like a year from now?
Although it is not a company that many people know about yet, I hope that Corca will be recognized as a company that applies AI well, not only in Korea but also in some overseas countries.
Applying AI well involves three levels. We ourselves can use AI well to create and operate good products, we can use AI well in our products to create good differentiation, and we can help everyone else realize their own value by using AI well like us.
The activities and products we do areChanges in work style or daily lifeWe hope to become a company that creates and is recognized for its value.
Q. How do you want to shape Corca’s technology organization in the future?
These days, the term ‘agentic engineering’ is being used. A little different from the existing Vibe coding, this means that we will use agents for the entire development process. However, I feel like this alone is still not enough.
For example, Toyota’s ‘Toyota Production System’ had a great impact not only on the automobile industry but also on software engineering. Trends such as agile methodology and lean startup were also influenced by the Toyota production system. I believe that today is a time when a similar paradigm shift can occur. We are refining it through trial and error. The Corca Agentic Production System (CAPS) is one such attempt.
Beyond simply using AI during the development process,Accelerate the entire process from planning, development, operation, marketing, and growth with AII want to create a system that improves quality, understands user feedback, and extends to data analysis and marketing. I believe that global optimization can be achieved by connecting broken pieces into a closed loop.
Of course, this is not something that can be done alone; the entire organization must work together to do it.
I believe that people should decide which direction to lead this system based on their curiosity and deep tastes. It would be nice if these decisions were made throughout the organization rather than at a specific level.
Q. What kind of influence do you want to have at Corca in the future?
I'm not good at interpersonal relationships, but I like creating things through coding and imagining the future. So, I want to do these two things together. Imagine what the future will look like, create some of it yourself, and show it to your colleagues.A role that allows people to concretely feel, “I hope that kind of future will come.”I would like to try it.
Q. Who do you expect to have as a colleague at Corca in the future?
A person who is very open to new thingsI hope so. And personally, I think ‘taste’ is important. In the future, I think this will be the factor that makes the biggest difference for each person.
I do not think of taste as an innate sense or any absolute inspiration. I don't think there is a huge difference in talent between people.
I think taste is something that is created in the process of constantly thinking about it, setting your own standards, and sharpening yourself.Continuously explore your fieldand do itThink deeply about making it your ownwhile at the same timeA person who organizes things that need to be thrown away according to the changing environment.. I hope you are someone who creates your own taste through that process.
This was an interview with Gyuyoung, Corca CTO and top engineer😀 Thank you for providing technical direction for Corca's various products, continuing individual development, and agreeing to an interview despite your busy schedule. Thanks to Gyuyoung, I have the feeling that Corca’s technical direction is becoming more solid, and I look forward to Corca’s future even more👍
